Lou Lou Vintage Fair es la mejor feria vintage del país y su cita trimestral en la ciudad de Bristol tiene lugar en Temple Meads, la estación de tren más antigua de la ciudad. Se os ocurre una mejor ubicación para una feria vintage que una estación de tren victoriana?
La terminal original fue diseñada por Brunel y toma su nombre de Temple Church, la iglesia templaria construida por los Caballeros Templarios. Temple Meads no sólo ha sido y es testigo silencioso de innumerables besos de despedida y calurosas bienvenidas, también ha sido escenario de una de las estampas más emotivas de la historia reciente del país. Durante la Segunda Guerra miles de niños fueron evacuados en tren desde la estación hacia zonas rurales para protegerlos de los bombardeos alemanes.
Las mejores almonedas del país se reúnen para la ocasión y nos presentan una gran colección de artīculos de 1920 a 1990: ropa, equipajes, muebles y vajillas a un precio excelente.
Encontrar una buena pieza vintage puede intimidar a los no iniciados. Siempre he sido fan de las reliquias de mi madre y de mi abuela pero he de admitir que al principio me daba bastante impresión llevar ropa de personas con las que no tenía ningún vínculo sanguíneo. Archie Leach nació en Bristol y debutó en el teatro Hipódromo de Bristol antes de cambiar de nombre y convertirse en una gran estrella de Hollywood. Una ocasionó única para ver Arsénico por Compasión en la ciudad que vió nacer a su protagonista.

Hunting for vintage clothing can be a bit intimidating for vintage virgins. Although I have always loved a family vintage treasure I have to admit I was initially a bit reluctant to wear clothes previously owned by unknown people. I initially started buying accessories like a beautiful victorian brooch and my Givenchy clip earrings from the 80s and one day I fell in love with the most beautiful dress ever in a market and I could not help it, I was converted.
However if you are not still convinced or if you have not been lucky enough ( vintage hunting is often hit and miss) the fair also features plenty of vintage inspired stands.
One of the most popular stands is the Pop Up Parlour, a blow dry bar where you can have any retro hairstyles from Victoria Rolls to Marcel Waves and your Hollywood Golden Age inspired make up for just £35.
The fair also presented The Cary Grant Festival. Bristol born Archie Leach was introduced to the theatre at the Bristol Hippodrome before changing his name and becoming an international movie star. An unique chance to watch the screening of Arsenic and Old Lace.
